Christmas in June this Saturday for Shadow doubleheader at SFCC
Fans get in for half price with donation to Toys for Tots

Wednesday, June 15

School is out and summer is here, but on Saturday the Spokane Shadow First Teams will be celebrating Christmas in June for their doubleheader at Spokane Falls CC Stadium, requesting its fans to donate to Toys for Tots at the games, which begin at 4:00 on June 18.

In what will be the last home games for over a month until the season finales on July 30, the league-leading Shadow Women’s First Team hosts Fuerza at 4:00 pm in NWPL action while the two-time EPLWA champion and current co-league leading Shadow Men’s First Team plays host to Bellingham United in the second half of the doubleheader at 6:30.

Tickets are regularly $10 for Adults, $7 for Children 15 and under, but fans that bring a new toy to the match will get in for half price ($5 for Adults, $3 for Children 15 and under).

Fans will also be able to enjoy a little holiday music and décor while at the match and are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday-themed shirts to the game. Will there be stocking stuffers? Yeah, we’ll have a bit of that in the form of the ever-popular Founders Club Candy Rush at halftime for the kids.

“One of the pillars of SSC Shadow is community, and we wanted to help give back to the community in fun way. June 18 falls right about at the midpoint of the year - halfway to Christmas - so we thought we would help the Toys for Tots program get a kick start to collecting toys for their holiday needs,” said Shadow First Teams General Manager Gerald Barnhart.

Members of the community unable to attend the match, but wish to donate may also stop by the stadium between 3:30 to 6:30 to drop off a donation.

Looking Further Ahead

The Shadow WFT will be on the road the following week for a trip to Twin City and then both teams are idle for two weeks before a pair of two-game road trips before returning home for the season finale July 30.
