Leagues & Affiliations

Spokane Soccer Club Shadow is the Premier, Select and Developmental soccer club within the Greater Spokane Youth Soccer Association (GSYSA).
 
SSC Shadow is a part of Washington Youth Soccer, and our premier teams play in Washington Youth Soccer’s Regional Club League (RCL) as well as the Washington Youth Soccer State Cup Tournaments, including the Washington State Championships, at the end of each season.  Washington Youth Soccer competes in Region IV of US Youth Soccer, and is affiliated with the US Soccer Federation, the governing body of soccer in the United States, and FIFA, the worldwide governing body.  SSC Shadow teams also qualify to play at the highest levels in youth soccer, including in US Youth Soccer’s Far West Regional League (FWRL) and the Western College Development Association (WCDA).

Northwest League (NWL)
Northwest LeagueHosted by Idaho Youth Soccer Association, the NWL welcomes Select-level teams from throughout eastern Washington, North Idaho and western Montana from ages U9-U18.





Regional Club League (RCL)
SSC Shadow U12-U18 Premier teams play in the Regional Club League (RCL) of Washington Youth Soccer (WYS), which is comprised of the WYS-sanctioned clubs in the state, and provides competitive opportunities at the highest levels for both boys and girls in age groups U10–U18.
The RCL is the "difference maker" in competitive levels available to premier soccer players in our state and our community.  The league is comprised of the 19 top-ranked youth soccer clubs in Washington.  In the greater Spokane area, SSC Shadow is the ONLY member of the RCL!

Far West Regional League
The Far West Regional League was created by the State Associations, who are members of USYS Region IV in 2006 to provide the highest standard of competitive play for youth teams in US Youth Soccer Region IV (the Far West Region) and assure the continued growth and development of elite level players.  Affiliation with USYS and State Association membership in USYS Region IV is a requirement for participation in the league.  Region IV consists of the following state associations: Alaska, Arizona, California North, California South, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
     


Western College Development Association
The WCDA is a premier youth soccer program focused on established, elite clubs delivering consistent, high-quality competition and college readiness services for its members. Thirty youth soccer clubs across the western United States have formed the Western College Development Association, with teams representing clubs in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Colorado. A primary objective of the WCDA is to provide consistent high-quality competition and enhanced college readiness opportunities for their elite soccer players. The WCDA provides an improved scouting environment for college coaches. It has created a College Advisory Board composed of coaches from Division I, II and III soccer programs who provide guidance and direction over the college readiness component of the Association. Member clubs are chosen by the WCDA's Soccer Advisory Board based on a number of criteria, including a club's history of elite youth player development and past success in elite competitions. The WCDA is a supplemental program, and member teams continue to play in other leagues, tournaments and State Cup competitions. Players are also be able to participate on their high school teams.

Greater Spokane Youth Soccer Association
SSC Shadow is the Premier, Select and Developmental soccer club of the Greater Spokane Youth Soccer Association, serving Spokane, Spokane Valley and outlying eastern Washington soccer communities.
 
Washington Youth Soccer

SSC Shadow is a member of Washington Youth Soccer, the governing body of soccer in our state, whose mission it is to foster youth through soccer at all levels of age and competition in Washington.  Washington Youth Soccer cooperates with the Seattle Sounders in its Elite Player Development (EPD) Program, created to identify and train young athletes in conjunction with US Youth Soccer’s Olympic Development Program.  SSC Shadow teams play in the Regional Club League (RCL), the highest level of competition offered through WYS.  WYS also administers four state-wide tournaments to provide teams at all levels the opportunity to compete in post-league play, including the Washington State Championships, in which SSC Shadow teams compete for an opportunity to represent their state in Far West Regional and National Championships.
     
US Youth Soccer

US Youth Soccer is the largest youth sports organization in the country and largest member of US Soccer. US Youth Soccer registers more than 3.2 million players annually, ages 5 to 19, and over 900,000 administrators, coaches and volunteers in 55 member state associations. The US Youth Soccer membership is divided into four regions; Washington Youth Soccer is part of the West (Region IV) which encompasses Alaska, Arizona, California-North, California-South, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming.



US Club Soccer

US Club Soccer is a national association member of the U.S. Soccer Federation, US Club Soccer is an organization committed to the development and support of soccer clubs in the United States.

The US Soccer Federation, founded in 1913, is one of the world’s first organizations to be affiliated with FIFA. As the governing body of soccer in the United States (recreational, amateur and professional), US Soccer has continued to develop the sport at all levels, and found success in making soccer a preeminent sport in the United States.

Since 1904, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has been the worldwide governing body of soccer. With 208 member associations across the globe, FIFA provides both elite competition (World Cup) and guidance to all levels of soccer being played in order to share its mission: “Develop the game; touch the world; build a better future.”
